I traded my 2006 Z06 for a new 2013 GS Convertible. I love the car but hate pushing on the trunk to close it. I have a 3LT and my wife has a base model 2013 coupe. Her trunk electrically closes the hatch for her. Any ideas why my car doesn't have this feature? Is it a convertible issue? If so has anyone changed the closer to a electric pull down of the lid?
Yes - it is due to the convertible top. They don't want it to inadvertently damage the top. I had the same problem - the trunk lid wasn't aligned well. I finally got it fixed when I was down at the April Bash at the NCM and had a plant engineer actually fix it for me. Unfortunately, I know that's not available to most. I would find a reputable Vette tech locally (check out the local forums in the Events/Regional tab) and have them check it out.
It's an unexpected peeve on my new car to have to press down on the trunk to close it each time. I smudge it up every time. The auto pull down feature would have been nice.

Yea, I thought mine would've had it too until I saw that notice light up that the trunk is ajar. I too don't like finger prints on the car so I actually just put my palm on the edge of the trunk lid and slam it down. Works perfectly.
The convertible has the same manual latch that I swapped out on my Z06 - I don't know of anybody that has done it on a vert, but I guess you could do the same thing I did.
The trunk lid on a Convertible is too light for the type of pull down that is used on the Coupe. Even with a Coupe, if you shut the hatch too lightly...it doesn't pull down. These are not the same pull down motors and latches that Cadillac uses.
