oh "hedders" cause they come out of the cylinder "hedds" right?! I dont know how we all would make it without the incorrect spelling police! sorry about the damage though!
I had a big block Camaro race car that did a big wheel stand off the starting line and smashed two lower tubes on the left header when it came back down. We heated the bent portion of the tube with an acetylene torch and used a broom stick to slowly push the bent section of tubing back out. It did not look pretty, but there was absolutely no impact on performance.
An offroad trick for dented dirtbike headpipes is to pull off the header & fill it with water & put it in the freezer. The resultant ice pushes out the dent. Mind you I've not done this, but I've repeatedly heard it works well. It's obviously a LOT easier with a small dirtbike headpipe.
Boomer my friend, you're missing out. I drive Hwy1 in my GS a lot & the rock situation has been fine all summer. When it starts raining it'll be a different story, but that's one of the most epic drives anywhere...minimal CHP too.
There's always room/time to dodge rocks...unless they're dropping on you like the OP, but I've not seen that in ten yrs of driving Hwy1. Just get on it well before 9am to avoid the slower traffic.

One reason why I refuse to drive HWY 1 in central California coast, just to many rock slides and no way to avoid them.
