I got gas
First week of Vette ownership is progressing smoothly. I am thoroughly enjoying motoring around town with my "S" mode on. Now, almost time for her first fill-up.
According to my directions, my engine on this 2013 Coupe can take 91 , but I've always heard to use 93. What grade of gas do you put in your corvette ? Also, do you have preferred gas stations where you think one brand's gas is better for the engine than another's? The manual says to visit toptiergas.com, and those stations have the best. Any validity to this?

I always use Shell 93.

Manual says 'if the vehicle has 6.2L V8 (VIN CODE W) , use premium unleaded 91 or higher. You can also use regular unleaded rated at 87 or higher, but acceleration could be slightly reduced , and slightly audible knocking noise might be heard.'.
Manual suggests 93 for best performance if vehicle has 6.2 L V8 (VIN Code T ) or 7l V8 (VIN CODE E), I'm guessing that means the manual and Z06, ZR1
Now, no way I'm putting 87 in my Vette, but Will I be able to tell a difference in performance between 91 and 93 in my automatic coupe? I can't remember off the top of my head the difference in price here between the two, but I'm going to check it out and will report back

I'm using as per recommendation of the owner manual. Min. 91 octane. Though the last batch of fuel wasn't top tier...Oh well, some BG44K or Chevron Techron will take care of that when I get the oil changed...But, mostly, I fill up on top tier...Mobil, Exxon, Shell...which are the top tiers available in my area....
I've run 89, 91, and 93 each many times. I don't notice one bit of difference between the three except the price per gallon. I don't seem to get any better gas mileage or performance between 89 and 93. No pinging or any negative side effects from 89. Many will say you can't run 89 but I sure don't agree.
