Default I'm Soooo Weak...

...I had her all buttoned up and put away for the Winter, but the weather was just too nice to pass up. The forecast thru Turkey Day is highs in the mid 50s and no rain...had to do it!!! It's one weakness I can live with

A beautiful car, just take it easy at temps under 50 degrees. Your blackened G/S fender badges give it a clean, uncluttered appearance.

Not weak at all....I would call it smart. I mean how hard is it to wash and put stabil in the tank. Go for it, I just washed mine today and have not put her away... my grandfather always told me when the weather is good make hay. Now go make hay

Same here (just south of you in Chicago northern 'burbs), weather forecast is pretty good through TG weekend, I now plan to button the Vette up next Saturday.

SAME HERE. North of Boston. Went from below freezing at 6:00 AM to the low 50s by 10:00 AM. But the sun was so warm that i gave 07/A6 Blackie a hand wash and dry in my tee shirt. Then took her for a spirited ride to N.H. for some tax free goods.

So - had you changed the oil immediately prior to storage? Now you've driven more and presumably put "contaminants" into the oil which will sit there over the winter unless you change the oil again. Now - I'll admit - I'm not sure that is a valid concern - but many on this board have it. I'll confess that I was always one to change the oil immediately before storage whether I'd driven the car 500 or 5000 miles in the season. I'm really starting to reconsider that standpoint and go with an "annual" viewpoint on oil change in low mileage seasons.

I have read...and read...and read...and not gotten any "REAL" data one way or the other. I did not change the oil before storage as my oil life indicator was at 79%. Since my GS is so new I'm going to store it without changing the oil as long as it is above 50%. I'll see how she does in the Spring. Next Winter I'll change it before I store it and see if there is any appreciable difference the following Spring.

I think that is a smart approach. You're never going to see any difference. Maybe if the motor was run out to the end of its life (however many 100's of 1000's of miles that is) you might see a difference.

I was up in your neck of the woods recently on a little road trip in search of Spotted Cows and Fat Squirrels - if you know what I mean.

I have been tempted myself and if I hadn't pulled the insurance off, I would have taken it out today......

Enjoy it while it lasts.
