Hello..I have a 2007 convert. and need to know if anyone has had this problem and what the fix is short of bringing it to the dealer.
When you open the door the window usually drops about 1/2 inch then when you close the door it returns to the closed position.
It was a cold day when I opened the door and didn't notice that the window had not gone down. So when I closed the door the window slamed into the top and of course didn't lock tight. So I shook the window and the window went down the inch and I thought it would be OK. Now when I open the door the window does go down but when I close the door it never goes up. I have to raise it from the inside to close it. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Joe
As mentioned, first step is to re-index the windows.
Also, if there is any frost or ice on the glass, that can cause the window to stick and not index. You can run a credit card around the edge to break the ice "weld".
Thanks to you guys I won't have to subject my car to the dreaded dealership !
Thank you it worked fine and I should get more into the manual for sure.
Take care all and have a safe holiday...

wow i was having this SAME issue! thank you guys for the answer and thanks OP for asking it!
Comes up here about twice a month, but we're used to it and don't mind answering it. I've had the fix saved in a MS Word file for the last 5 or 6 years.
