Was driving my GS 2012 in some light snow recently. Downshifted and noticed the DIC "engine drag activated"
Did not see anything in the manual about this.
From the manual, page 5-39 (for a 2013, I reckon the manuals are almost identical):
Engine Power Messages
ENGINE DRAG CONTROL ACTIVE
This message displays when engine drag control is active. When driving in a lower gear in rainy, snowy, or icy conditions and then letting up on the accelerator or downshifting, the rear wheels may begin to slip and this message displays. This message stays on for a few seconds following the engine drag control event.

The car is trying to tell you it was equipped with extra-wide shallow treaded summer tires not designed to be driven in light snow or at temperates which enable snow to exist. Your rear wheels were slipping simply be lifting off the throttle.
When the message is showing the EBCM is telling the ECM to add some throttle to keep the rear wheels from slowing too much thus preventing the rear wheels from breaking loose and causing the car to spin.
