Well... it appears that I'm doing it and thought I'd see what thoughts you all might have. About a year ago, we bought my first Corvette. It's red with black interior and has almost every option available, starting with the Z51 package. It had 34k miles. It's an A6 and it really looks and runs great. I wish it had a manual transmission, but like the Corvette so much that I was willing to overlook a few things. I waited 40 years to get it! This weekend, we went to our Chevy dealer and looked at some brand new Corvettes. One thing led to another and it looks like we're trading our 2007 in on a brand new 1LT with a manual transmission! I'm willing to give up a few features to have the new 2013 Corvette with a manual transmission. What do you all think?
If it's Ok with you, then that's all that matters. I personally like to have all the creature comforts, so a 1LT would not be in my dreams.
An awful lot of owners like the 1LT, so they are popular choice.
Congrats on the new 2013.
As long as you are not going to miss some of those features go for it. I have a 1lt, all I wanted was NPP and the Manual 6 speed. I do not miss a thing and have no regrets.
I'm totally happy with my 2012 1LT as it still offers so many nice features over several years ago. i think youll be happy. my only worry was seat comfort without the adjustable bolsters of 3lt, but added padding and now they're perfect. Don't miss or need other amenities of the higher $ packages myself and truly love the car!

The 1LT comes pretty well equipped. They even added a 6 way power passenger seat, starting with the '12 models.
I am sure you will be happy with your new '13 Corvette 1LT with the 6 speed manual transmission. Best of luck with it and enjoy!
It depends on how you plan to use the car. Just think about the features in the higher tier and whether you would even use them let alone miss them.
Certainly some owners want all the bells and whistles - nav & so-on for taking long road trips and such, but for me - when I drive a performance car, it's all about the experience - just me bonding with the car.
I guess my radio actually works but I never listen to it - I've got a 436 HP sound system - and for my kind of driving the manual trans MAKES the car.

The 2013 already comes standard with more useless options than you will ever need. Trading in your make-pretend torque converter automatic transmission "sports car" for the real thing is the way to go. Your new Vette will have more horsepower and torque, the TR6060 short-throw precision 6-speed manual transmission; precision variable ratio, variable assistance power steering; it will be blue tooth capable with steering wheel controls; you will have trunk and hood logos with bright trim surrounds, and you will have upgraded traction control and active handling hardware and soft-wear. You will not miss the Z51 option if you don't auto cross, just the rough, skittish ride that come with it, and your new Vette will be far more capable on everyday roads because of it's more compliant suspension. Go for it!

Also remember fully optioned one is heavier. I have 1lt and I am perfectly happy with it. My first corvette was auto and I thought I could overlook not having MN6, but later regreted it so much!
Thanks to all for your replies! It looks pretty straight forward... which is the same conclusion that we came to this morning. We went to the dealer this afternoon and came home with our brand new Corvette, without looking back! I should have done it earlier, but I now have a special appreciation for the M6. It's Cyber Gray and ebony interior. It's also wearing the 60th Anniversary edition badging! I'll get a pic or two up ASAP. I have a little rust with a clutch, but this Corvette is making the return a snap! Again, thanks to all for your great thoughts. Another happier Corvette owner!
