I Got Screwed!!!!!

From Tire Rack - http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tirete....jsp?techid=77
And from the Michelin site - http://www.michelinman.com/tires-101...re-repair.page
Well, DUH!!! That eliminates the reason for runflats and not having a spare tire. This also indicates that the first dealer was just following Michelin's guidelines that the tire should not be repaired because we have to assume the OP drove the car to the dealer and could have been "flat" at some point.
Firestone is more forgiving http://www.firestonecompleteautocare.com/tires/faq.jsp yet molded into the side of my tires it says that if the tire is damaged by operating while flat that it should not be repaired.
I have not been able to find where Goodyear or Hankook care if the tire is repaired.
OTOH, when I called Firestone this summer, I got put on hold for a while while the person did some research about their C6 runflats, and was finally told they should not be repaired under any circumstances even if the tire never went flat at all.
Realistically, I would want the shop to carefully inspect any tire, runflat or not, and to repair it if there was no additional damage.
