Axel nuts (again)
After reading several threads recently about loose rear axel nuts, I decided to check mine just for fun, And following GMs TSB, I checked the torque to see if they were loose at 100 N/M = (73 ft/lbs) Sure enough, the right side was loose about 1/2 turn, the driver sides was fine. So I purchased a new nut (p/n 10257766 from Chevy Dealer), per the TSB, I cleaned the axle threads, added the Loc Tite and torqued the new nut to 160 ft/lbs, Im letting the Loc Tite cure over night. The job took about 15 minutes and cost about $12.00 for the new nut and bottle of Loc Tight !
