Default Quick HP question

I know the 08 Z06 is advertised from the factory to come with 505HP.
What would that HP be in rear wheel HP? Thanks for the info.

No, factory HP ratings are never at the wheels, only at the crank! My estimate would be 15-20% less so around 400-420.

Factory rating is flywheel hp......rearwheel hp for the C6Z is in the 430-450 range

For LS3 engines, advertised HP is 430, at the wheel is closer to 360 stock. For the Z06 it's closer to 505, but really 430ish.

Not a Z06, but I have the same 505hp motor in my 427 and the dyno read 465hp at rear wheels when I took delivery

430 at the wheels for the Z06 sounds about right, since most people quote a 15% drop from flywheel to rear wheels for manual tranny Vettes.

That percentage would also mean that the LS3 is about 365 - 370 at the rear wheels for manual tranny cars, or about 352 - 357 for automatic tranny cars.

I think the drop is about 18% for Vettes with the automatic tranny.

465 at the wheels is a very minimal drive train drop off, those numbers surprise me. I had a Roush 427 small block that was 555 st the crank, the wheel hp when we dynoed it was 440. To lose less than 10% on your 427 REDFIVE is amazing.

Now show the SAE corrected chart. And/or the actual barometer, temp, humidity, elevation, etc.

the drive train in the corvette takes about 50 hp to spin up to 7000rpms (engine) in 4th gear.
My car stock made 347rwhp on a mustang dyno.

My built engine made 552hp on the engine dyno and 499.3 on the same mustang dyno.
