There is a indoor car show in our area and the fire marshal insists that the Battery must be disconnected. The show lasts 3 days.

Will the battery being disconnected for 3 days cause any harm?

No harm at all.

If you can leave the hood open, when the show is over you will simply need to reconnect the battery.

If not, just make sure you leave a window cracked open a little if you can. To gain re-entry you will need to go in using the trunk key above the license plate (make sure your's works BEFORE you disconnect the battery), and then use the emergency door release in the rear (it is a cable with a little handle on it.)

Leaving the window down a bit will ensure that the door comes open with ease rather than having to force it open against the gasket.

Open the hood and reconnect. You'll be good to go.

Of course, once you reconnect you will need to reindex your power windows after the power loss.

As Paul said, just be careful of closing up the car with the battery disconnected as it could complicate getting back into it.

My car sits in the garage for weeks at a time during certain times of the year with no problems. Don't really understand the point in disconnecting the battery but me personally I'd tell the show organizers I'll pass on this one, JMHO.

fire marshalls have been doing this for a while now in certain areas. They claim it prevents fires, and also the ability for some nimrod to start it up and create an issue with indoor air quality. I claim they are being moronic.
