I believe they both get the job done in the same fashion. I went with the Plus because of its 10 year warranty. My first one crapped out during year #6 and was relaced with no questions asked.

Be sure to keep your receipt.

I went with the Plus, 4 almost 5 years and no problems. Not sure of the difference from the Jr. other than the warranty length.

I bought the Jr because it was originally purchased for my harley. It did a great job on my Harleys and it does a great on the Vet also. For long term storage it is perfect.

Used them for years on motorcycles, on sale now here. Great price. I believe the recharge amps are the lowest in the Jr. .75 I think. My batteries last for years and years.....

There are two main upgrades to the Plus. The Junior has a max charge of 0.75 amps and the Plus is 1.25 amps. The other is the Plus has temperature compensation. What that does is reduce the charging rate during periods of high ambient temperature, so your battery does not overheat.

Thank you again guys. I have decided to buy the Deltran Plus. By the way, a week ago I never even heard of this product but thanks to you all who responded I am now very comfortable with not only knowing what to buy but how to use it.

You can't go wrong with the 'Plus". I use a couple of the 'Juniors' for the motorcycles, a "'Plus" for one of the cars and a few CTEKs for the other cars. Never had trouble with any of them (yet).

The Junior will maintain a charge and the plus will actually charge and maintain the battery.

Not sure where you get your information, but the Jr will also charge. A battery tender is useless if it doesn't charge it first before going into a float mode.

http://batterytender.com/products/au...-at-0-75a.html

From the their website
Complete 4-step charging program (Initialization, Bulk Charge, Absorption Mode, Float Mode).

Never heard of this brand neither Deltran. What about the CTEK? The Deltran has a longer warranty?

Either brand will work. The CTEK one is the one that gets pushed by the vendors on here. The biggest advantage the CTEK has over the Deltran models is desulphation. The Deltran ones do everything the CTEK ones do except for it does not desulphate the battery.

Is desulphation needed? Yes and no. If you have been using a battery tender from the beginning and you never allowed your battery to complete drain, you don't need it. But if your battery completely died, even once, it now has sulphation and cannot never be fully recharged.

But if your battery is in good condition and you keep it on a tender, the Deltran model will work just fine. And for $25 for the jr (versus $100 for the CTEK) it is a great value.

Got the Jr

Had it plugged in for a year while I was deployed. Worked great and helped (I believe) the factory battery last five years.
