I COMPLETELY agree! I Loved my supercharged C5Z but I couldnt stop staring at my buddies C6Z so I bought a 2010 GS to cruise with the top off. Now that the C7 pics are coming out it makes the C6Z and GS by far the best looking Vette and I bet the C6 line will stay popular for years to come.!

C5 will likely maintain its value as its depreciated the most. The C6 GS is going to plummet in value soon, once the C7 is released people will be trading in their C6's.
If you like the C5...just keep it, sell the GS while it still has good value.

Also curious why you'd sell the GS before the C5 --- had a C5, now have a GS, and feel it is worlds better & more fun in every way... what do you love about the C5 that the GS doesn't cover? Just curious!

The C5 was my first vette. I have always loved it. When my wife saw the Grand Sports, she felt we just had to have one of them. You know how it is when your wife insist on a new vette.
I guess it is that "first love" feeling. I never really had the same feeling for the GS.
So we got it a couple of years ago. It became our trip car if it was just the two of us. She had a Charger Daytona incase we went somewhere with friends.
I would switch off between the 5 and 6. I drive 30 miles each way, half through curving mountain roads and half, flat straights across the desert.
Honestly, after about 4 days in the GS, I am getting tired of the rough ride and the road and exhaust noise. I get in the C5, and my first reaction is, wow, how quiet and smooth this thing is.
But then after a week of so in it, I get the urge to get that loud, uncivilized GS out and drive it a while.
Wife wants no part of selling the GS. Perhaps we will pay off the Caddy and keep the GS. The GS has a 0% loan, so I hate to pay that off. But then, we got 1.49% on the Caddy, so paying off either one is an option.
I will wait until after April 15 to make a decision.

CTS V is a nice car but I know someone that said the Vette seats are better for trips compared to his V's Recaros. He said no matter what he did he could not find a comfortable seating position. He also got tired of Escalade type gas mileage, with 1/3rd the room and around the 1/2 the range. In the city he was putting in $50-60 of premium a weak in his V. He said it was odd at first to see the fuel gauge on 1/2 tank with less than 100 miles on the odometer.
I would keep the GS over the C5. It sounds like the V and C6 are not paid for so I would sell the C5 and hopefully pay off a majority of the C6.

I don't understand the financial advice being given here.........people are telling you to sell your paid off C5, and put the little bit of money that would return on the GS or cts-v????
Horrible move.
Again, look at the financials, the GS is (relatively speaking) tanking in depreciation now and for the next 10 years......your C5 will be worth the same 10k-20k for the next decade plus! Your not losing money with the C5, in fact you love driving it, and its cheaper to insure, cheaper to drive gas and tires....cheaper to change the oil on!
Don't do what I did, I traded in my first corvette, I regret it to this day.....I didn't appreciate it enough until it was gone. Even though I traded up to a C6 Z06, I miss the 07 Z51 the most.....just something about that car I loved. Oh ya and it was paid off, cheaper to insure and drive.....lol

[QUOTE=laconiajack;1582662967]...... consider that the C7 will probably obsolete wide-bodied Vettes more than classic bodied models, .../QUOTE]
I can only shake my head. Park a "classic bodied" Vette next to a wide body Vette. Pretty obvious as to what Vette style has become "obsolete". A few years from now when I trade my GS for a C7 I'll get more for the GS than you willl get for your "classic bodied" Vette.
Your GS dislike/hatred makes you sound foolish.

If you use the GS for mainly trips...guaranteed once you start using the CTS you will never go back to the GS for a trip. There is just no comparison. I've had 2 STS and they are road machines.
So sell it and use the C5 as you do anyway, around town.
No bad decision whatever you do.
