No,I wouldn't buy one.You better make sure it shouldn't be totaled. How much is the damage v what it's worth out there in the world. More then 70-75% of value and it should be totaled.
I would be VERY reluctant to buy a vehicle knowing it had previous frame damage, unless it was an old pickup or something that I just wanted to buy cheap. But a high end car like a vette...no way!
No I would not buy a car with frame damage. I would get a lawyer and try to figure out what his fees will be and then what you can get for the car when you sell it and try to get a Total Cost and dump the car and not take a loss. After all you did nothing wrong why should it cost you money.
For me, heck no I would not buy a C6 that had frame damage. Plenty out there that are for sale that didnt have damage like that.
I guess $5K reduction in price sounds reasonable, but how would you know that it is in decent condition at any price? I guess that's why I'd agree more with the above than tonylmiller's post altho I see his point. It's not like all frame-damage can't be repaired.
How much are they saying is the cost of the damage? Did they attempt to fix it yet? Did you stress with her company that you want to be financially the same as before the accident?
For a 2005 C6 I would say low teens for a frame damaged accident car. There are just too many non accident options out there. Paint will never match and who knows what screwed up with the alignment which means potential increased expenses for tires.
Unfortunately you have to disclose all damage/accidents if you sell it. Even if it doesn't make the carfax. I would push them to total it or make sure they are paying decent diminished value, $5-10k at least.
They wont total it out?.. A friend got hit by a young girl and it caused frame damage to their car and they said the insur. comp. could not fix the car because the state required it to be salvaged because of the frame issues. I guess it may be different from state to state.
I was in an accident this summer and incurred some frame damage. It was repaired using state-of-the-art equipment (at a Honda repair facility) and there are no negative effects other than the obvious repair/paint on the frame rails.
I'm using an appraisal company, AutoLoss, to pursue a diminished value claim. I've submitted the paperwork 4 times and the at-fault party's insurance company is ignoring me, hoping I will go away.
I may have to sue. So be patient, but by all means pursue the DV claim. You're entitled to it and the car is definitely worth much less than it was before the accident.
And NO, I would not buy a car that had frame damage when there are so many better options available.
Good Luck

There is a reason that every well equiped body shop has a 'frame'machine. In good times walk into most any body shop and here is a vehicle on that machine. Body shops are everywhere. See my point.
The money paid for wrecked Corvettes by dealers, dismantlers, rebuilders, etc. at insurance salvage pools is substantial. The insurance company certainly wont be hurting if they declare it a total loss.
First things first. Whats bent and how much time is being allowed for frame repair. What is the extent of the 'frame' damage. It might be very minor or not.
