Exhaust tips are stainless steel so a metal polish for stainless is okay. Wax/polish has cleaners in it that are not as agressive as metal polish metal being harder requires more cutting power you are removing small amounts of paint or metal.

I have used it before and will work just fine. Now I dont know that it is any better than the others out there but if that is what you have you shouldn't have any issues with it
Has anyone tried Wenol and if so is it OK to use on the exhaust tips?
I have used the buffing pads from harbor freight, and i love wenol..
Like the poster said before. The tips are mad of a highly polished metal
insideand the outside a little rough..Wenol will not do it..I would see people on this forum with aftermarket tips and polish them up like white gold. Not our tips...
I was introduced to adams and a rough cloth like felt. The bottles are pink and blue called metal polish 1 and 2. This polish will smooth out the
outside and then hit with the milder polish and o=it will look like chrome ..I hear semi chrome is the same. I will find a pick if i can.
Here is after a polish done at least 3 months ago.
I can't find the before pictures. Just imagine your tip then my tip. After you get the shine you want then touch up with wenol. I do need something at the backof the tip looks bad lol.

either of these are good metal polishes, flitz has polish ***** available. Flitz got my tips looking perfect. Flitz is available at just about every auto store in the US.
Yes, I have been using Captain Richard's Best products for quite a few years. I clean my Harley with this stuff and it is about all I ever used on my NSX. I'm talking about using the Capt. Richard's Best cleaner/polish on the paint. The Bombs Away is great on aluminum and chrome. I have used it on my stainless exhaust also. IMO, it is as good as Simichrome which is pretty much everyone's standard for metal polish.

I also used Captain Richard's products for years on my Harleys as well. Most Harley shops carry it. I always had good luck with everything I tried...
my question is how do you get your wife to work on the Corvettte? Is it hers? Sometimes I suggest that my wife do something like that and you should see the look I get.

Actually, shining up those exhaust tips was her idea. I told her how and she did the rest. We're car people at heart and she likes to help out. I got lucky I guess, she's a keeper!
Had some time to kill yesterday so I did my semi-annual chrome wheel cleanup.
Just for grins, I compared Flitz to Zaino (Z2) and a few others I had on the shelf. Zaino was the shine winner. Not sure how long it lasts but I just report it as I see it. Had to redo the other wheels done with the others with Zaino afterwards so that they looked uniform.
