Default Door switch

Two questions how hard is it to replace the door switch (electronic swithc used to open the door)and what forum vendor sells the ones to match the color of my car?

PS unless it's broken, it's not the electronic switch that you'll replace, just the handle part, it's 2 screws....

Default swithch

I think it is the switch some times when the swithch is pushed the door does not unlock completly and you have to push is several times befor the door unlocks. Can the switch be lubricated or is it best to replace the switch? Is the switch as easy to replace as the handle?

that im not sure, but im guessing that it shouldn't be hard at all once you take the handle part off (like i said 2 screws). I'm not so sure that it's the switch thats the problem though. If it works sometimes im guessing it might just be a FOB battery, or maybe something as simple as interference with the fob. Is the fob in your pocket with, lets say your phone? I know my iphone interferes with all my fob if they are in the same pocket.... i could be way off thug, good luck

Someone here wrote about taking the switch out and cleaning the contacts. Do a search, that might be the problem.

Can remove, clean, and replace the touch pads in about 15 minutes. After you've done it once you can do it in 10 or less.

I've cleaned mine. Just remove and clean them and they will be like new. Very easy to do.

Cleaned and then contacts protected by a light film of WD-40, they will be better than new ones.

Looks dead simple... step-by-step photos & instructions:
http://www.theredlion.us/C6%20door%2...itch%20DIY.pdf

Just don't let the disconnected wiring harness drop inside the door.

Instead of replacing the door switch, you can clean the contact pads:
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-c...-pads-too.html

But a new one is only ~$15.
