hello my c6 is not detecting the fob to start the car but the doors will open and the back hatch will open with fob. does anyone have any advise to what to do.
Have you tried putting the fob in the slot in the glove box to start the car?
Where is the fob when you're trying to start the car now? Any electronic devices plugged into an electrical outlet in the car when you're trying to start it?
Does it happen with both fobs? Maybe the fob battery is not quite strong enough to trigger the starter but has enough to open the door and hatch. Just a thought.

Ive tried with both FOB and the both have new batteries.. I have nothing plug in the outlets I also tried to put the FOB in the slot and that didn't help.
Make sure you don't have any electronic devices in the same pocket or near your fob. I have had problems if my fob was too near my cell phone or ipod or just about anythng electrical. I know keep my fob in a pocket by itself and usually have no problems.
hey guys i put the 2nd fob in the slot for a few minutes and it fired right up.. Thanks for all the advise!!!
Not trying to hyjack thread but how would putting FOB in glove box slot help?....My switch light won't turn green sometimes but will still start when button is pushed, 99.9% of the time.

The green light on the switch is a trim light only...it is unrelated to the functioning of the switch. It is only there to make it easy to see the button. If you close the door and sit in the car for 30 seconds or so, all the interior lights including that one will go out, but the car is still ready to start and will do so when the dark button is pushed.

As long as the slot in the glove box is working, you can put a fob with a dead battery in it in the slot and it will start the car. If you don't do it that way, a fob with a dead battery will not start the car.

funny,. I recently changed the batteries in both my fobs... the indication I got was that upon approaching the car after locking it... and going to open the passenger door first, it would not open (putting my gym bag in after working out)...went to the drivers side and it opened fine..
changed the batteries and it works like day one now... strange.
