Default Tail lights flaw (C6)

Each tail light is held on by only one screw. It's a flaw since one has already fallen out and seriously scratched up the paint from it dangling around while driving. That was about 6 months ago. I tightened the screws on all of them at the time.

This morning I checked them and one screw on a different tail light was loose about half way. Anyone else have this happen?

Moral of the story - check your screws!

Sounds like a good idea.. Maybe we should use some kind of thread lock...

Those screws have never come loose for any of my vettes. You may want to replace the metal clips they screw into because they may be loose or missing.

A friend of mine bought a new GS vert last fall and the same thing happened to him. One fell out and the screws were loose on the other three.

Seems to be a little quality control problem with the taillight screw tightening person...

Our (2009) were a bit loose the first time I tightened them, have not come loose since then.

Last time I used Loctite around plastic, the plastic melted...

Good advice. Wrap them with Teflon thread sealing tape and that should keep them tight. Like Jim above, Loctite will melt some plastics. JB.

Never an issue on my 05'. I think you have a problem somewhere. You may be missing the threaded clips that the fasteners screw into.

Maybe a dab of clear silicone sealant?
