Default XM question

I have a 2008 4lt with xm. I never paid for it until now cause they kept filling my mail box with the 6 months for $24. So I finally gave in and ordered it....

so Im new to satellite. I read they merged with siri. Am I getting all the channels or do I need some device that plays both xm and siri?

Thanks

XM and Sirius are the same company but as part of the merger agreement the new company had to keep them separate for a number of years. You will only receive XM stations unless you pay extra for combined content.

There are many channels that are on both platforms. I have Sirius in my daily driver Acura and XM in my '12 Coupe. Some channels like "80's on 8" are channel 8 on both platforms while other channels may have an XM channel number and a different Sirius channel number for the same station. The bulk of the stations can be found on both.

However, sports' channels are a different thing. I can only get NFL on Sirius and if I remember correctly MLB is on XM. Some of this can be added on as mentioned above for more than the $24/6mo. special pricing. I did the $24 deal once and I remember it being a slightly trimmed down version of what they call their normal package.

If you check out their website, it may have more clarification on this.

Here's their playlist. I ordered mine after my three month dealer subscription expired. I didn't order every channel but did get most of them. Every communication I had with them and every 'ad' I hear on the radio is always Sirius/XM, never just one of them.

OK so if i paid for extra siri channels, it will play through my 2008 factory xm equipment?

And thats the premier package? I see options for sirius, xm and siriusxm. I take that siriusxm is both combined??
