MGW hands down. The build quality is 2nd to none as is the way it performs.

Since I have not used a B&M I cannot say if its good or bad, but I can tell you I have used Hurst in a different car and a MGW in the Vette. The MGW is the best of the two and sets the standard for product quality and with its the easy to follow DIY DVD instructions.

IMO MGW is this the best you can buy.

Installed my MGW on friday, Absolutely fell in love! I can't believe I didn't do it wayyyyyyy earlier! The feeling the shifter has and the speed of it along with the far superior build quality makes it the BEST vette shifter IMO!!

Timmy - did you upgrade to the MGW after you got your ZR1?

I've been thinking about upgrading my 2010 ZR1, but wanted to make sure it would be a NOTICEABLE improvement from stock.

Thanks,

Jeff

Questions for those with the MGW, with some miles on it:

- Does the shift **** (with the stock one) sit any higher than stock?

- Is there absolutely any extra noise from the lack of insulation the stock one has? And how about vibration?

- And finally, was there any improvement on cold notchines and crunching (if afflicted) when cold? That's mostly a tranny issue, but when adjusting the shift box twice, I had different results, even though the same identical service manual method was used.

I'm quite happy with the stock shifter, but it could be better, especially when cold, and on the notchiness of some gears even when hot. And yes, I already did pretty much everything you can: Amsoil fully-synthetic Troque-Drive fluid, shift detent shimmed with one washer, shift box adjusted, and clutch fluid 'ranger method' done like 15 times in 3K miles (since day 1). Don't want to install an MGW if it's going to allow any more noise inside the cabin. Car is already noisy enough . Thx.

I have had the B&M, LG Short Shifter and the MGW. I like the MGW the best out of the three followed closely by the LG. I hated the B&M personally. It was very very notchy, and did not have centering springs (which make it much less likely to miss a gear).

MGW is just such a well put together shifter that is smooth, and very high quality. It is not so smooth that it doesn't have feel though. Very positive shifts.

I trimed all of the stock insulation with a razor blade and put both insulators back on after I installed the MGW. I noticed zero difference in sound levels.

I would recommend the insulation kit that mgw sells on their website for like 10 bucks to make it even quiter than stock.

The MGW is a great addition to my Z51, I wouldn't have any other.
