OEM air filter
This is not a debate about which filter to use.. I know the difference between a stock paper filter and an Atack Blue or K&N, I know the gain it HP is minimal and comes at the risk or more dirt entering the engine. I also know a oiled filter like a K&N is not as bad as many believe so is a viable option. I also know from many years of off road racing an oiled foam filter is better option that is usually not available to street vehicles.
Now on to the question. What is the best price for an OEM air filter. I live in Florida, my C6 is a daily driver, the pollen in the air here is massive some times of the year, and it can be unpredictable with sudden warm spells, so I would like to stick with the OEM filter. But I have a hard time springing for the price of an OEM disposable filter when I can get a K&N for $85 at Autozone..
Unless someone knows of a oiled foam filter that fits in a C6.

On the oil forum the 'oiled' filters such as the brand you mentioned oil analysis usually show higher levels of silicates(DIRT/SAND) then quality paper filters. Not always but usually and sometimes very high. That is what I have read over 10year time frame. The factory filter in your 2008 up corvette has a 50,000 mile life expectancy.(unless something has been changed) Its made by Donaldson. Cost around $100 bucks give or take. I personally did/have used K&N in years past. I know thousands are sold and used in all manor of events. I have thrown mine away in the past and unless special circumstances will never buy another.
The OP is asking about the engine air filter. OH it turns lime green all over here in the spring also with lime green cloud bursts in the air. I still have my factory engine air filter at 34,000 miles. I have tapped the sand out of it a few months ago and looked it over good then reinstalled it.

Mine was blue ('08) like all the pics I've seen. Regardless, you can't see the sunlight through a new one either, due to the design.

I have also noticed a 3mpg drop in gas mileage over the last week or so and think the air filter may be getting clogged.
I plan on pulling the air filter and trying to tap it clean, but was trying to find a decent price on an OEM filter so I would have it in case it needs to be replaced early.
