I'm contemplating on doing the ZR1 widebody conversion to my base C6. For those that have done the full widebody conversion, all 5 panels, how much did paint alone run? And what level of paint job did you get, OEM equivalent or an all-out show quality paint job? I would use OEM panels and am estimating the paint, for a show quality paint job, to run around $4k. I would do the install myself.
I paid $5700 but it was a colour change to a Jet black pearl and a body off paint job, also some repairs. Everything was painted off except the rockers.. Then re assembly.
The paint was colour sanded to get a smooth no orange peel finish.

So you want show quality on the 5 new panels and then will just stay with the factory paint job on the doors, mirrors, roof, halo , rear hatch and rear bumper cover? Don't think you will be happy with the mis-match in surface finish, i.e. orange peel and probably gloss.
Alot of range in what body shops charge, but your most likely look at $500-$1000 per panel.
I did just rear widebody and paid $1200 for rear fenders and rear diffuser, but by the time we were done, pretty much had painted the entire car.

That's true. I guess I would be looking for a shop that can do show quality work but make the panels look like they came off the assembly line. I want to avoid shops that do a poor job of painting, buffing, and everything else that's involved. Looking for great quality.
If you want the panels to be painted without being installed it should be 300 - 400 per panel. So figure 5 panels 1500-2000. My best bud owns a shop and did my wide booty conversion. He happens to be sitting right next to me so I asked.
I did the rear conversion on my car. Painted on the car and blended to make it look perfect and it cost $1600. That price obviously includes all of the supplies, sanding, final detail, etc.
