Race ramp clearance for my 2013 427
Well discovered a problem...unable to drive up on my ramps. Have to pull off the splitter to repair some damage I did on day 6 of ownership.
I have a new carbon fiber to use until I fix the damage. But can not use the ramps to get enuf clearance to take off the splitter. Any ideas greatly appreciated.
U need the ramp extenders, mine is really low and I have the splitter and can get up there. I have the 67" plus the extenders. It is close but goes up ok.
Until then, get some wood and slide it under the front of the ramps to decrease the angle.
This is exactly the reason Reverse Logic offers five additional Race Ramps models with initial inclines ranging from 3.5 degrees to 6.8 degrees. Standard 56" and 67" ramps have a 10.7 degree slope. The XTenders bring the initial incline down to 6.8 degrees. The Reverse Logic models have the XTenders integrated into the incline sections of the ramps.
Our latest ramp model, RLL-80-2, also incorporates a trailer ramp into the design. The attached drawing shows the RLL-80-2 (Black) compared to the standard 56" (Green) and 67" (Red) ramps. Inverting the incline section converts it to a trailer ramp, very close to the RR-TR-6 ramp with a slightly more shallow slope.

Not recommended. Raising the edge of the Race Ramp onto a board will effectively create a "bridge". Race Ramps are designed to be used with the entire bottom surface on the ground. Using them as a bridge will almost certainly crack the ramps.
Using some boards instead of the XTender on top of the ramps (also not recommended) is also likely to damage the top surface of the ramps, but, it would not crack them.
The official factory recommendation would be to use the XTenders.
In a pinch you could probably use some boards in front of the standard ramps. But your splitter may be too low for this to work, plus, it's also not a factory recommended practice.

I owned mine less that a week when I damaged my splitter,I had the same problem with my ramps. so I jacked up each side and lowered it on jack stands to get the splitter off.
What happened to your car, what kind of damage? I have a set of the 2 piece ramps, I am pretty sure they are the 87" that raises the car 10". No rub at all and I do have the ZR1 splitter. Had a set prior that I had to use the extenders with and it only raised the car 8". Sold them. That 2" difference made a lot of difference changing oil, plus I don't have to fool with the extenders any longer.
I'm on the 4th splitter for my ZR1, and I've removed and replaced them more times than that!!!!
It only takes about 20 minutes to remove the old one and replace it with the new one.
I have a lift, but it's not worth even putting the car on the lift for the splitter job.
You can do the entire job with the car sitting with tires on the ground. You just lay on the ground in front of the car and reach under the front edge of the splitter to access the nut screws (IIRC they take a 6mm socket).
I've got a composite splitter on the car now, but I need to take it off to repaint it.
While it's off I've got an air dam piece like the Z06 and GS use that I'll put on - and I may just leave it on!!!!
The splitter is nice, but it should be considered a disposable, consumable, and often to be replaced part of the car!!
I'm on zr1 carbon fiber splitter number 3. I have 2350 miles on my Callaway Centennial GS vert. I have my car up on the ramps from my lifts so I can't measure just yet. I'm beginning to think the supercharger weight has mine sitting lower than most. Later today, I'm ordering the new carbon chin splitter which will go on after my next unexpected really, really, bad day.
I was pretty bummed when I broke my last Carbon fiber splitter
At that point Dave I can tell you weren't worried about scratching the hood by sitting on it. On a positive note look at the beautiful car you created thanks to this mishap. Actually I thought the wide body came after the accident.

No, it had come in stages, I did the rear, then did the front, then the hood, then crashed, then custom painted the whole car, and put it all back together better than new.
No body damage when I damaged my first 2 off. I am however out the cost of having each covered with the invisible bra. The second time, I was pulling it down by a lake to take pictures and then immediately park it for the winter in the garage. I'm 10 minutes from putting it away and I still managed to mess it up. I won't be buying a fourth one. If they were $99.00, maybe. The first one was scraped and I could get away with painting it but everything else I have is Carbon. I would love to lower the car but I'm thinking I would be lucky to make it to the gas station with no damage!
Sorry to hear of the damage. Mind sharing how/what? I need all the tips I can get to prevent scratching mine.
Day 6 of owning went to visit a friend. As I approached the driveway opening, her roommate was playing B-ball so I went to parrellel the driveway. Lots of leaves along the side of her road and I missed the opening of her driveway by 6 inches. The curb won, scraped the corner of the splitter. I had worked all night, was a bit tired and missed judged the distance. My bad, driving 47 yrs and have never damaged my car. It had to happen with this 60th edition. arg!!
