Default Removing rear (behind seats) panels

I need to know how to remove the rear panels that are behind the seats. The car is an 08 C6 Convertible. Any suggestions. Thanks.

Are you talking about removing the carpet that is on the wall/partition right behind the seats?

Default Rear cloth panels behind seats in a C6

I am wanting to put a poly carbonate wind deflector behind the seats. It bolts to the seat belt platform. I just need to know how to get to the seat belt bolt platform. Tks.

I have not looked yet, as the car is in the shop at LG Motors having long tube headers put on, so I can not yet look at the behind seat area. I do not know if it is just carpet or are there panels that I would have to remove in order to get to the seat belt bolt platform...Tks.

Be careful drilling any holes as the fuel tanks are behind there.

It might help to know why (the purpose) you need the info.

Dan, he asked a reasonable question. We don't know what brand you are asking about or why it didn't come with instructions. The GM deflector requires only a T shaped cut to the carpet, for the bracket, and a floor mount so we might be legitimately somewhat confused as to which brand requires the mounting you are trying to achieve. People here really try to be helpful. There may even be instruction sheets if we only knew which brand and model was involved.

Since there is no "seat belt platform" to bolt something to, it's hard to imagine what you're attempting to do.

The seat belts are attached to the seat itself and the seat attaches to four studs in the floor. There are no removeable "panels" unless that's a reference to the plastic door jamb cover.

Maybe the seat belt retractor assembly is what you need to access. That requires seat removal and carpet removal.

Without pics or more info, it's a crap shoot trying to guess what you need.

A sawzall will remove the panels. As stated, the fuel tanks are a couple of inches away. There must be a better way to accomplish whatever you are trying to do.

This is a convertible and I think without looking that there is access behind the seats to the top stowage area, but the car is in the shop and I can not look at it as of yet. I just wanted to throw this out there, as I am going to put plastic wind deflector behind the seats and the online instructions state that I will need to bolt it to the seat belt platform. I just wanted to know if anyone knew anything about it before I start.

I am more interested in finding a quality louvered/slotted hood that will bolt on to the existing hood hardware that is on the car. I have never bought any type of aftermarket body pieces and I need to find a quality manufacturer. Anyone know of a company that makes after-market hoods. Tks.
