Its my DD. I got it Sept 2004. When all the hoopla about the C6 came out. People would wave give me a thumbs up, even the Highway Patrol cops would pull up next to me and say great car.. Thats what the early owners of the C7 have to look forward to. A few moments of well bought fame.!
Here is my question: It is not unusual for owners of fourth generation Camaros to easily get over 100K trouble-free miles on their cars with the LS engines. Why then is it that Corvette owners seem to feel that any Corvette approaching 50K miles is basically "used up". I realize that many if not most Corvette owners do not put the miles on their cars that most Camaro owners do and as a result a buyer sees a lot more low mileage Corvettes. But the LS engine has a reputation of being "bullet-proof". Obviously the Corvette LS engines are not made to lower specs and standards so why all the concern when a Corvette has 50K miles on it? Should a Corvette buyer of a C5 or C6 be concerned about 50K miles or more?
Had 168, 000 on my LS1 Z28 when I finally sold it after garaging it for a couple years. Pretty modded up and lots of days at the track. Jump started it for the guy and he drove it home and I had a few thousand bucks in my pocket. 63000 is still practically new.

Because Corvette owners are old duffs that come from an era when 80 thousand miles was a great achievement. So 50k was near the end of the life cycle. 50k is the break in period IMO.
