Drivers Window
How hard is it to remove the door panel to see what happened? And does anyone have a similar experience?

Chances are your window regulator cable broke, so it will need a replacement.
Good Luck
Rolled the window down and it came back up half way.
Tried to roll it down again and it moved down a little.
Tried back up and it sounded like crumbling cellophane.
Finally it stopped altogether about 3/4 way down.
Borrowed some plastic from the motel to cover the window.
Drove home about 300 miles the next morning with some air coming in by the plastic. Temps were in the low 40's.
ACTUALLY with the aerodynamics of the C7, not much air come in the open side windows. It just flows right by the window.
Long story short.....the window regulator went bad... On a car with just 15,000 miles? Yep.
Had GMPP extended coverage. (Still do... Thanks Mark Fitchner) Took it to the wheeler dealer and they replaced the drivers side window regulator.
No more problems after that.
You can TRY disconnecting the battery for about a minute and reconnect it. See if it's an index problem.
If that doesn't fix it you may need a new window regulator.
Somewhere between 269 and 300 buck.
Tape some plastic over the window opening to keep water out of the car until you sort out what you need to do.
Good luck with it, Brother Vette.
