The couple times I have been through a car wash wierd things have happened. I know most would comment DON'T go through the car wash, so let's get past that part. I'm not anymore, but wondering why these things happen when I did. The Active Handling Warning Light comes on, the horn sounds like a Kia horn and the Cruise Control does not work. But after a couple days all is good again. So, I'm assuming something or somethings get wet and this is the result. Is it possible something is missing that is exposing an area letting water get where it should not be? Anyway thanks for your comments.
There are two main connectors with electrical connections behind your right front tire just past your wheel well liner it is possible if your getting an under carriage spray it is getting wet. I would check that your liner is not cracked or missing parts of it. Your connectors for your active handing ties in close to your hubs...as far as your horn sounds....I always thought mine sounded like a KIA anyway.....one of the things I plan on changing out.
I made sure the second wash I went through did not have an under carrage spray thinking that was the issue. It must be getting that area wet from the side spay. Thanks for your input.
Just lower your car a little and problem solved. Wont go thru the car wash.
I agree something is getting wet. You are lucky it dries out so quickly. One time I washed my eng bay with low pressure spot free water. 3 weeks later my car started acting up on my way to work. Had to be towed to the dealer. They found water in my MAF plug. They blew it out and let it sit in the sun all day. Problem solved. Now I use air and detail spray.
But really, I did not realize that and am not going to do it anymore, that's for sure. That's a shame because we have a really nice car wash that for $5 you go through the wash, they get all the bugs off and towell dry it. Oh well, thanks.
The owner of the car wash has a vette and puts it through the all the time with no issues. oh well??

Owners manual says never use an automatic car wash.
Well I would never take mine through an automatic car wash, but the manual does not say that exactly. It does warn about clearance issues with the wide wheels and tires that could be damaged, and then it goes on to say High pressure car washes may cause water to enter the vehicle.. At least in to 2007 owners manual.
We've been taking our Corvettes through automatic touchless car washes for the last 12 years/160k miles. Never had any problems, but my limits are:
Only water or air touch the car. Nothing with brushes or those floppy rags. Never.
If it has guide bars on the floor, the car probably won't fit. If unsure, walk in and measure.
If anything looks suspicious, go somewhere else.
Your C6 got its first carwash at the factory in the name of checking for issues just like the OP has. I would seriously consider taking it to the dealer to have them check.
everyone keeps pushing me to take mine to a car wash, but I never will. They keep saying how the places have updated their facilities to accommodate lower vehicles with wide tires.

Like I said, most of the places in our area with guide rails won't even fit our base C6, forget about a Z06/GS/ZR1.
But there are lots of them with no guide rails at all, just gotta do a bit of searching.
