So my HUD was never working when I got my car used. I ordered a new unit and using the cut the duct method did it this morning. (Way easier than I anticipated). So i figured it would just be plug and play. HUD looks great works fine. However, the tach doesn't work now, mechanical needle, or on HUD the service active handling light is on and the warning light is on constantly saying to check the brake fluid.
When I installed mine a few years ago, initially the speed readout (MPH) in the HUD remained on zero. Everything else worked, but I could not get it to register the vehicles speed. So, I took it back apart and re-did all the wiring connections. Still no MPH readout. Took it apart again and, on a hunch, decided to check to see if the wiring harness was plugged in tight at the projector (it's tight in there if you have large hands). Sure enough, when I pushed hard on the connector, I felt it move slightly and simultaneously heard an audible "click". Put it back together and everything worked, including the MPH read out.
But I never got the warnigs you're getting on the DIC. Still, you might check your connections, you never know. Good luck!

Interesting. I would check all connections and go from there. Electronics are very sensitive. Issues such as this are the only thing keeping me from pulling the trigger on a HUD.
That $722 was labor...tech said he needed to take the dash out and do alot of wiring...This is my first vette, so I rely on the dealership for installs.
