i have a 2007 c6 base with only 5700 miles and my fuel gauge shows empty but the car is full. and when the gauge shows full my car would be empty. i did some research and was told to change the fuel sending units because they maybe faulty, which i did, but i still have the same issue. anyone run into this problem before
Like he said, the techron or GM Fuel System Treatment + solve many fuel gauge problems, but not all.
But it's so cheap and easy, I'd try it a couple of times before anything else.
If the sending units are external to the tank, the suggestion is to use some techron, because it may be that the float or whatever is used inside the tank for gasoline level detection is sticking. Have you done that? If so, and if the sender is verified to actually be sending a signal, then the remaining possibility is something wrong with your instrument panel or fuel level gauge.

WOW! The disinformation is strong in this one.
There are two fuel sending units, one in each tank. The gauge reads the total of the two signals as calculated by the BCM. The default is for the gauge to go to zero when there is any fault detected by the BCM. The most common fault is using cheap gas (not Top Tier) will cause dirt or corrosion on one or both sending units and the wiper will no longer make contact. The BCM detects this as a fault and causes the display to go to zero. A bottle of Techron cleans the sensor and resolves the issue.
Gauge reads full when the tanks are empty? Nope, never heard of that. The only thing I can think of is someone has been playing with the wiring and swapped the power and ground connections.

I used nothing in my 2005 but 93 octane Chevron. Additionally I used a bottle of techron every 6 months. The sending units still went bad, it's a nasty fix, the exhaust had to come off as well as the tanks. Also the dealer didn't have a clue. Fun times with the 2005eddie
