Sorry Wayne, we would love to be able to insure you for errand useage, but we are not a standard auto carrier. We are a collector car specialiast like some of the others mentioned in this thread. Like us, Grundy, Gagerty, Heacock, etc will have the same restrictions as us. Sorry we couldnt work together!
Called NCM for a quote and they are the lowest at 800 per year. BUT I can't drive it anywhere??
Was told running errands was a no no. I said no problem how about driving it to the golf course? No we can't cover that I was told.
WTF?
I will just stick with State Farm at 1188 per year and I can drive it anywhere I want.
And the rate is higher than some on the board because I live in Michigan. But it's still not that bad.
I think the difference might be as to whether you have another daily driver or not. These specialty companies are interested in insuring limited use vehicles, not daily drivers.
Just got set up with American National Property and Casualty with an "agreed value" policy on the Z. Anout 700 a year for 65K (1000 ded). Also set up a homeowners with them, so there's probably a discount there, plus another car. ANPAC also gives a 25% return of total annual premiums of house and cars, providing there are no claims for three years (if allowed in your state).
Might be worth a try!

I have 2 other vehicles in the house as my daily driver. I even selected 6000 miles or less on the vette.
No biggie. They only run yearly rates where as State Farm lets me knock my insurance down when it's in storage. So for 4 months out of the year it's only 15 bucks a month.
But really, what's up with not being able to drive it to the golf course???
I use Progressive. I'm 28 and have my homeowners with them and 2 cars and live in NJ with clean driving record. Suprising not much more over 6 months then the mazda
I orginally had Hagerty but the same "no errands allowed" thingy drove me to Grundy Worlwide. Cheaper premium and I can actually drive the car when I want...where I want, but not as a daily driver of course.

Coverages matter a lot. My policy covers 1/2 mil. About $1200 a year with Allstate, get 5% back every 6 months. Two drivers, wife has an accident. USSA is about the same price except Allstate provides a brand new Vette if mine is loss within 3 years. 11 GS Vert
we don't use ours as everday use, so Grundy fit our needs, but it is flexible, with occasional use to work (she works from home so no big deal)
what i did like about Grundy was they have a new policy you can get for daily use, agreed value. I do plan to investigate that.
think about what your daily car costs, and then a year or two after god forbid something happens because some illegal/low life/meth head/etc decideds to connect with our car and has no insurance.... not gonna be fun, and it's so sad that this is how you have to protect yourself now-a-days, meaning pay for someone else cause of irresponsiblity (sounds like a typical democratic society we live in now lol)
as with any insurance company, it's the what if i need to use it...
ex: we are having hell at time with our health insurance company...
they are all ever so gladly to take your $$, but what about results
i for one can't comment as i have not had to go down that path and hope i NEVER have to
that's where you want to see the feedback
honestly... i haven't seen to much good feedback on any insurance company when needed (again it's a business)
also... becareful as with anything... cheap doesn't mean good..
