Default Turn on DIC display

Just bought a '13 1LT and want to turn on the DIC display without starting the engine. Looked in the owners manual but couldn't find any info. Tried forum info suggesting pushing start button without pushing on the brake pedal but the diplay told me to press brake. Pushing the accessory button only turns on the radio.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

just press the accessory button without pressing the brake pedal but you need to keep the accessory button pressed for about ten seconds to go into ignition mode

Push the bottom of your engine switch (as though you're going to accessory mode) and HOLD for 10-15 seconds; it will go to "Run" mode without actually starting the engine.

Look at that - three identical responses in less than a minute!

Agree with the above but would add if you stay in this mode for any length of time try and be hooked up to a battery maintainer while doing this.

this is good advice because I have had to get a boost a couple of times because I did this while detailing the car (to listen to music)

If it's just to get the odometer reading, try the parking lights.

By the way, I'll bite...how do you check the odometer with the parking lights?

If you folks have any other tidbits of "howto" info that aren't in the C6 manual I'd appreciate them.

Thanks again for the help.

If you ever lock your fob in the trunk/hatch "dead zone", you'll be glad to have a spare metal key.

Under $10 at most key shops. Tell 'em to use key blank B-106 (same as a Saturn). Be sure to try the key, make sure it actually works.

Lots of Secrets of the C6 in this old thread:
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-c...of-the-c6.html

And congrats on your new C6!

Thanks for the thread info and the thumbs up. The key sounds like cheap insurance, I'll do that.

Increased my driving experience enjoyment yesterday...found a person locally that had a transparent roof for sale. It changes the whole perspective.

I think that when personalizing the DIC it's a good idea to do it while the engine is running. That might minimize battery drain.
