Hey guys - purchased my first c6 last year, and wanting to do some exterior accessory work to make it stand out. It's a black c6 with black interior. What I've already done: filled in corvette lettering on back and interior dash with silver lettering. Installed black and silver door sills. Corvette rear enhancement plate between tail pipes. Spec decal installed on motor. Filled in hood decal with color corvette logo. Most black c6s I see are all black/red themed. I really wanna keep mine silver/chrome with accessories.
Some things I'm considering: I want to do some side fender panel trim, front grill in chrome color. Thinking about blacking out tail lights. Saw some ZR1 chrome rims that looked awesome on a c6 base.
Any ideas/pics of what you've done is greatly appreciated. Sidenote - I'm only 28, so have to do this a little over time. Want to get the most look for my buck. I have 2 vetoes a 82 white with Daytona flair package - only 20k miles all original. And an 09 ls3. How did we ever drive anything else???? Thankfully my dad raised me right!
I am not one for doing anything to the outside of a car...
I would like matte black wheels but because I will sell the car in a couple of years, I hate to spend that much money.
I do put on things which make the car function better for my needs.
Drilled Rotors.
Radio
Tinted windows
My current C6 is Jet Stream Blue and with the exception of upgrading tires, bolt-ons and tinting it, I haven't done much. I had a C5 that was black on black but to be completely honest I liked it stock. It's a Corvette, not a Scion. It doesn't need a bunch of add-ons to look good. Put a good exhaust on it and you might just enjoy the sound of the LS2/LS3 a lot more than some chrome pieces or lights...
I'm with everyone else... you're 28 not 68. Don't put cheap looking **** on the car, look into performance upgrades.
Well seeing I am only 67, I have another year before I cheapen my C6 up according to you. I love how so many on this forum seem to think that anyone that has been on the earth for 60 years or better are just old duds that have no taste.

If you look....the majority of ghetto looking Corvettes with chrome crap stuck everywhere with 3M tape is by the older group. Im not calling you old or saying you are an older dud that has no taste, just going by what I have witnessed.
Just like crime. Is it profiling saying who is responsible for most of the crime in the USA or is it just using statistics? Is it true that white men cant dance? Stereotypes exist because they are true, not for all but for a good majority of the population in that group.
Hey Colt 27. Go with the chrome OEM Replicas ZR-1 wheels! Around $6-700.I did and they look great on a C6.I just like the way they look and shine. A pain to clean but well worth the look. And no Im not trying to be a ZR-1.I also did tint, lowered it on stock bolts, chrome bubmper grill. all are inexpensive upgrades that will pay off in the end. What's important is that you are happy with what you choice to do. It's your car so enjoy it the way you like it!!!
I just bought a 08 vert with a lot of chrome crap. The former owner spent around $2000 for it. I have taken most of it off. It was a pain getting all the glue off. I am 65 so I guess not old enough for it yet.

If your Dad raised you right you wouldn't be thinking about blacking out your tail lights.

I'm only 69 and of course I agree with you! Anyway, all I've done to my '06 is to add a billet grill and ZR1 replica chrome wheels. The car is Monterey Red and if I say so myself, it's beautiful...

This is probably the most inane statement I've ever seen on this forum. When I was young and stupid, I used to think that older people were dumb, not "with it" (whatever that means), mired in the past, etc. Now that I'm 69, I was right, young people are stupid. If you want a stereotype, there you go, dude.
You just might want to pretty much leave it alone. The standard 'narrow body' C6 is a beautiful 'touring' car. I ordered mine to be just that and eight years later it has and still is a great car. Not much for chrome on a sports car.
I happen to like a little bit of jewelry...not much, just enough to not look like all the rest. My '10 JSB base is pretty much a clean slate but I have added stainless side vent grills and will add a matching grill to the front. Beyond that, not much else on the exterior. I have the chrome wheels and personally think a couple trinkets set it all off. After that, the rest of the "mods" I do with be performance based. I will be 47 this year and a white male, so not really sure where that puts me in the stereotype but I know what I personally like on my car and am not concerned if others like it or not. Do what makes you happy!
