c6 tips
The 05's had a weak rear differential, but was fixed in 2006.
The 05's had a problem with the battery going dead if you didn't have the MN in reverse.
The 06 removed the XM antenna from the outside of the car to the inside in 06
The 05's had a 4 speed auto
The 06 went to a 6speed auto with paddle shifts.
Just be careful of buying cars with performance mods without getting it checked out first.
The 2005, 2006, and 2007 had the 400 HP LS2 engines
in the future years the LS3 was introduced with 436 HP
Just buy the lowest mileage, newest model that you can afford, and you will be fine.

I will add one thing and that is tires. A set of tires for a C6 costs more than a set for a '53 Buick (~$1,200) and might surprise the unaware. If the factory alignment is kept so as to keep the best handling, the inner edges of the front tires will wear out first which is hard to see without a lift.
An easy way to tell if the harmonic balancer is OK, is to check to see if the outside area of the balancer is flush with the inside portion. Bad ones, the center portion usually start to separate and either move in towards the engine, or out towards the radiator. Either way is not good.
I would ask if the belts have been changed. That is usually the first signs of the beginning of a failing balancer.
Typically, belts will last a long long time if everything is OK.
