Window Tint Warning

I was reading my Nav. manuel and there is a warning about window tint causing GPS problems. I have my windows tinted and i have not had any problems.

Probably the cheaper metallic tint, ceramic and dyed should not affect GPS.

Windows and rear window are tinted on my '08 convertible.
GPS still works great.

I tinted my windshield with 80% and must say that it is a huge improvement. I know it is illegal in most states and probably mine...but it came highly recommended and I cant believe the difference in glare reduction and heat dispersion. I highly recommend it!

GPS antenna is above the radio/above above the duct, and towards the steering column a few inches under the dash.

So problem is some of the cheaper metallic tints that have enough metal in them, that it blocks/ interferes with the GPS that is getting it signal through the windshield.
