So I replaced a burnt out tail light today and realized the adjacent tail light screw was hanging on by a cvnt-hair. Haha! Basically, I have black out tail light covers and that's the only thing holding up the screw in place. It appears its missing some sort of screw retainer. If the screw were to fall out the light will just plop out... Anyone know a good remedy or where I can get that part to hold the screw to the body?? Thanks
Sounds like it's missing the retaining clip that slides onto the top edge of the light opening. You might be able to take out one of the other 3 and take it down the local auto parts stores and just match up a replacement clip. Or get one from the dealer.
Why not get a button head socket (hex key head) 8-32 machine screw or whatever fits through the hole and put a nut on the inside by reaching through the tail light opening next to the one that your having a problem with? Obviously you would have to remove the one next to it to do this but if you get a black button head screw you could never tell the differance... Good luck
