Default How do you store your extra roof?

My soon to arrive (mid May) 2013 GS has the dual roof option. I was wondering how you folks store your extra roof. How do you keep it from getting scratched?
Use a storage bag? If so, which one? Lean it against the garage wall, etc. Mostly the tinted roof will be on the car and the painted one will be in storage except for really hot sunny days.

I use a wall mounted roof hanger:

Great way to show off my $1,400 piece of wall art!

My GS is due to arrive sometime next month and I have the dual-roof option too. I was thinking of a storage bag that is a GM accessory for $85 (also on eBay). The wall mount is an interesting approach as long as the top is secure and not easily knocked off the wall.

I store my painted top on a wall mounted hanger which I installed in the garage. So far so good.

It is secure, (mine has been there for 4+ years).

Yes, it could be knocked off, (it would take a BIG hit) so if the area you are considering is prone to that, I would maybe go another route.

There are a few other options in this thread.

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-c...le-c6-top.html

Note that the way I was storing my top (with three brackets) turned out to be overkill with possible negative side effects. Using one bracket on either side of the top would be more than enough, with no chance the top could make contact with the brackets. With the middle bracket in place it is possible for the top of of the bracket to make contact with the painted surface. (no big deal, but could possibly have marred the paint)

No bust intended, but I have never understood the desire for the 2 roof option. As is pointed out in this thread, you have the need for safe storage of the unused roof, and in nice weather are likely running with no roof. Not to mention that the cost for the 2 roof option is pricey.

After ownership for any length of time, I wounder how many 2 roof owners actually switch between roofs regularly?

I store mine in the GM accessory bag made for it. Perfect fit and soft lined. Will not scratch (make sure the top is cleaned and waxed before storing). Made of a tough Naugahyde type material with handles that can be used to hang on any wall mounted hooks. Approximately $70.00.

I do.

Oct - May transparent top.
June - Sept solid top. I also prefer the look of the solid top on my car.

Very rarely ride with the top off.

I wouldn't say that I switch regularly, but the transparent roof is great in the winter time and the painted roof is perfect for summer. Storage is not a problem at all, I've got a wall mounted hanger, but there are plenty of other completely free options. As far as the price of the option, as long as you buy your vette from a forum dealer, you'll pay less for the car with that option than you would if you went to a normal dealer and got a car without that option.

I went to Tommy Jr at MacMulkin and got a 3LT with dual roofs for less than the best deal I could get at my local chevy dealership for a 2LT. I even showed those guys the advertisement with price listed to see if they would just match it so I wouldn't have to fly to NH and then drive 1,000 miles back home, but they just said they couldn't match that price and I walked out the door.

Winter time/cooler weather - tinted roof
Temperatures ranging from 75 to low 80's - no roof
Hot sunny days - painted roof
