Default 06 Interior Trim Question...

Placed my question in the wrong place the first time, sorry...

How difficult is it to replace the large silver trim piece in the console that wraps around the shifter, stereo and heating vents???

There are like 5 screws holding it on.
Maybe ten minutes to remove it safely.

If you've never done it it probably will take longer than 10 minutes being cautious. Not difficult and you should be able to find a detailed instruction thread on here somewhere. What you ned to be most careful with is once you remove the shift ****, the ash tray door can pop open and you scratch it on the shifter unknowingly when you remove the trim piece.

Its pretty easy, as someone mentioned, 4 screws (2 inside console) and 2 on the passenger side to be removed, after shifter boot is lifted off (clips hold that down) The hardest part is disconnecting the plugs for the rear aux power outlet, it has a push in tab on the very top and hard to get at.
The seat warmer plugs are a pain, but a small screwdriver can get the tab pushed in to remove. The cig lighter plug tab is easy to get at and unplug, as is the 4 way flasher.
Put the shifter in the bottom away from the ashtray when removing the console.

Hope this helped a bit

Simple as pie. I've removed mine more than a few times for different upgrades. Just be careful when popping it out the tabs can easily break.
