Default Corvette Forum Test

I'm a retired educator so I am experienced in writing hard questions. Seems every test I gave over the years someone would always stand out above the rest and was very knowledgeable about the subject area. So forum brothers and sisters I have several questions, will someone or several CF members stand out??

1. RPI has colored caliper covers that snap on and tighten with a couple of screws. Has anyone bought caliper covers? If so what are your comments about how they work, lookl? Any pics available.

2. Several folks on here have mentioned that they have used a clear bra to cover the area around the rear air ducts, where do you place the material, how high, how far back etc?? I hope someone would have pics of how theres look so I can copy the placement.

3. Whats the wheel size of a GS convertible, looking to replace my rims.

4.If a boat is sitting in the ocean and tosses a rope over the side with 5 knots in it 2 feet apart. The tide rises at the rate of 24 inches every hour and a half, how long does it take for the water to reach the top knot??
Thanks for the help folks.

4.1 I've never known that a boat could toss a rope over the side. I would think a person would have to do that.

4.2 Never. The boat rises with the tide.

Based on my experience as an instructional designer, question #4 would be deemed invalid as there are too many variables to make any assumptions measurable...sorry, you failed.

1. No

2. High enough and far back enough to protect the area you want protected.

3. The wheel size is the diameter/width of the wheel.

4. Very funny.

Did I pass?

I bought them last year, and I'm taking them off! Installed them last year and noticed the fronts were scraping on the wheel, very little room for error. I went to Carlisle and talked to the vendor that sells them and explained my problem, he was ready to blame the wheels until I said they were stock. He tolled me to go to Home Depot and buy some paint to repaint them. Waste of money, I'll paint the calipers this time.

2. Cleartastic is a product that you can install yourself with warm soapy water. Xpel and 3M make some professionally installed products.

Very good except the gentleman above your post says 18/19. This is my issue with the wheels, seems there is a difference of opinion in the wheel size thus my confusion

The diameter would be on your tires.

He is correct, the stock grand sport rims are 18/19

The Cup wheels and ZR-1 Wheels (available on GS) are 19/20

That may be where the confusion comes from.

Here is a vendor that has the sizes and off sets listed.

Actually, the top knot gets wet immediately if as was said the rope gets tossed over the side.

Caliper covers are never a good idea as your brakes generate heat, and they would hinder heat dissipation, and possibly melt.

Rope floats, unless you tie a weight to it.
