Life gets too busy to wander through the forum and post sometimes. It has been like that lately. Work particularly is nuts. My lovely wife has undertaken her second pretty big home improvement project in two years which should be read as she has an idea that I get to execute! Anyway, no matter how bad the day at work or how much more work on the projects I have to do when I get home, I look forward to the drive home in the greatest car I have ever owned!

Unfortunately, I have a dilemma and here it is:

The weather has been great lately to drive with the top out. I just wish the pollen season would cooperate! It is so bad this year that I have to rinse the car off every day or it looks like I have a custom sickly green painted car. If you have never suffered through Georgia spring pollen season, you may not be able to really understand.

So I am thinking I can take the top out and enjoy the beautiful weather but I have visions of starting to sneeze uncontrollably while my eyes start itching and burning so bad I can't see. This rapidly descends into thoughts of driving along and suffering such itchy burny eye sensations I throw my contact lenses out the open top! Of course, another sneezing fit would soon ensue and between not being able to see anything anyway and then not being able to control the car as my head repeatedly hits the steering wheel while I sneeze and cough I run randomly through some establishment's plate glass window front thus ending an inauspicious allergic mess.

The next alternative is to take a lot of allergy medicine, drive sans top and go to sleep behind the wheel. While the lady of the house has opined that she is surprised I don't sleep in the car (she thinks I am obsessed with it and I think she just doesn't get it!), I don't think either of us would see sleeping in the car while driving the car a good thing. I do, however, recall a prominent Atlantan once saying he shouldn't be charged with DUI as he wasn't really driving the car when he hit the other parked cars because even though he was legally over the limit, he was asleep at the wheel.

If neither of those things happen, I will just end up with a matching sickly green exterior and interior.

Ahh the decisions one must make... Of course, this whole post could just be the allergy meds kicking in big time!

Maybe take the top off, drive fast so you are not on the road long.

The joys of pollen season . The last few years it has become so bad here in New England that I leave the top up. We leave the windows closed in the house and the air on. It is terrible. The california duster gets a lot of use through the spring and early summer.

Yeah..I start wiping the Vette down from front to rear. When I get to the rear, look back...The hood of my red car is yellowish green. It is what it is I guess. As for your wife finding things for you to execute, she must be related to mine. I accuse her often of sitting around thinking up things for me to do. In fact, I need to go finish staining the fence.

When I had allergy problems for a while (gone now, no one know why) I found that Zyrtek worked well but absolutely put me to sleep, I could barely wake up the next morning. But Allegra did a good job for me and no drowsiness.

Some experimentation, with help from your Dr, might be effective.

(If you've already tried the various meds witout good results, my condolances.)

If someone hasn't dealt with the pollen down here they will not understand I have been taking my pills since February but I don't think this year has been as bad as others. I have been staring at the COVERED LUMP in my garage, from what I remember it is RED

Take your meds, roll up the windows, turn the HVAC and keep the top on. I follow this plan myself until allergy season is over or at least less severe.
