I saw something like this in my first couple of years of commercial driving.
It was on a four lane mountain road with no center divider, at the time.
The car in question was just ahead of me and starting into the upgrade and woodlands.
It was a little sports car, I think a Sprite, we called them Bug Eyed at the time.
Anyway the driver veered into oncoming traffic, over into the second oncoming lane and ran right under a Peterbuit's front end.
Just about the same end with the entire car under the trucks front end.
I later taled with a CHP and was told they felt it was a suicide.
This was one of two handfuls of very serious and disturbing accidents I witnessed over 35 years on the road.
Each time I wanted to pull over and never drive again much less even be on pavement.
I always wonder how the medical response teams and other responding personnel handle these terrible distrubing accidents.
Ya I stayed on the road for a long time but my respect for what can go wrong has never left, even for a brief second.

Spent 28yrs in Law-enforcement before retiring back in 2002, and NEVER saw a vette crushed like that in an accident. I know what the aftermath had to look like and I'm not sure I'd want to drive anymore that day or the week... or eat for that matter.
