I was aware of this C6 issue since 2008/09 -
some guys replacing HB by 30k miles
MY 007 F55 MN6 started out sutbly at around 64k Dec 2011; 2 of my buddies ragged on me as soon as they heard it at idle/low speed.
I got it replaced very soon afterwards before it got incessant or noticeable at speed, OR, HB bearings froze the motor.
There are no HB bearings...it is attached to the crankshaft and spins as one piece with it.
I always read stuff like this and worry. My question is, when something like this starts to become problematic how easy is it to hear that "chirp"? We're not driving around a car that typically is quiet to begin with. Start adding headers and aftermarket exhaust and are you really going to hear something like this if it starts to go???
I am sure you can hear it a block away! I have after market exhaust and its louder then the borla exhaust. I am embarrassed to drive the car.
Mine went on my 2011 at 26k . Still under factory warranty . Thank goodness . When you hear the chirp , you know what it is . First they replaced the belt then the chirp came back a week later . I wouldn't worry too much . I would go to a corvette shop and put the ATI in and be done with it . If you don't abuse the car I don't think you should have too many issues . Good luck .

If you do a search many others have had this issue with cars after 05 & 06.
I have an '06 with just over 68,000 miles. I had my harmonic balancer and drive belts replaced this past March. It [HB] was borderline wobbling. My local Chevy dealership (which is also our Corvette Club sponsor) did the work. All told...$724.00.
