Default Wind issue with convertible

Is it normal for the convertibles with the top down to have a feeling like someones kicking the back of your seat at 70-80mph? Would getting the little screen/net thing make a difference on this?

The "little screen/net thing" does make a difference - and having your windows up makes a difference especially at highway speeds - and windy days make a hell of difference from calm ones . . . .

they do help from what I've been told. there are two basic different models/brands: one that can remain up and in without removing when the top is put up, and one that can't. the one that can remain in seems to only come in clear acrylic but can have etching, lighting, etc. added to it.

Not so much the seat itself, but yes...the sensation inside the car that the wind is actually coming from the back of the car...normal. Only gets worse the faster you go. Nothing to be alarmed about.

As the other fella posted, you can get a windscreen that will at least take the edge off of it, but certainly won't eliminate it.

If you are by yourself, putting up only the passenger window will lower turbulence the most.

I brought this up in an earlier thread about windscreens and if they were worth the price. Personally, I love the wind in my face but that's from riding Harley's for many years too. The whole convertible thing is for the wind & top down. Just my $.02 here, but I wouldn't waste the money on them, I haven't felt that kicking sensation at those speeds.

On a car without roof, it's normal to feel the force of the wind in many ways.

I guess it must be me, I have never even noticed the feeling of someone kicking the back of the seat with the top down at high speeds...

Convertibles don't have a wind 'issue'. The other models may have but not the verts. I have my seat all the way back and don't feel any pressure pushing into the seat behind me. If I wore a ball cap backwards it would fly off quite easily though.
