I drove the Vette to work today and have it parked on the side where I can keep an eye on it. Guy pulls up this afternoon in a 4 door F250 and flings his door open so hard it hit the stops and bounced back at him. Couldn't have missed my car by more than an inch and it was obvious he didn't care either way! And people wonder why I don't daily drive it.....

Yep, call me a chicken $h!t, but that's exactly why I'm afraid to park anywhere. Some people are so careless about other peoples property. Glad you avoided getting a door ding, I hope you learned your lesson..

As hard as he threw that door open it would have left a hole not a scratch or ding. When he came in I said "You about got my car". his reply.."oh yeah?" Rrrrrr........

that was a close call. that is why MOST OF US park at the end of the lot and walk, but sometimes someone does park next to us, we just have to hope this doesn't happen. when asked why I don't drive the car to work, I just say that I just don't trust other drivers, it's a shame but i'm glad I have something else as a daily driver. I don't know what I would feel if I had something more expensive, I would hate to have to stare at it inside a locked garage.

Some people have no respect for anyones property. That is one reason I hate parking and leaving my Vette. When I do it is mostly at the golf course or end spot if somewheres else.

I had a similar experience. Drove to a Culvers and backed up in a parking spot,I was a little crooked, meaning I wasn't centered. But,of course their was 15 parking stalls next to me,empty and in front of me as well. I mean maybe 3 or 4 cars in the entire lot. So,my brother and I came out after finishing our meal and noticed a guy and his wife pulled into the parking spot right next to me. She was just closing her door and I said "gee,I hope you didn't bump into my car" and her husband said you need to learn how to park ! At this moment,I tried to hide my feelings of smashing his face in,but I said "their are 15 parking stalls empty and you had to squeeze next to me" ? He said,"I'll park where I want and its your problem you can't park". He said this as we were getting in my car and they were walking not in the direction of Culvers restaurant, but they walked over to Applebees !! They parked in Culvers to eat at Applebees !! I was so mad,it was a good thing my brother was with to calm me down,as I know he would have been wondering how he got his nose broken !! What an a$$ !! I'm still ticked off............

I know what you mean. Folks need to be a lot more careful. Glad he didn't get your car, but glad you would have witnessed it if he had.

That's why I always park away from everyone before I got the vette I was driving my s500 mb and I would do the same when it came to parking. I want to be able to enjoy my car and not feel like I'm in danger every time I bring it out

Actually, that is the other reason there is a metal key inside your fob...

Default Another way!

Another way, I have driven on back county roads and this has happened twice. An 18 wheeler in front of me see a Vette in his rear side mirror and pulls two feet off the side of the road and sprays my car with shoulder debris. Just showered my car, some of those 18 wheel drivers are jealous jerks. No respect all.

I pretty much only drive my car to work and that is because I have a reserved parking spot next to people who won't do that kind of stuff. Other than that if I have to park somewhere for some reason I stand next to the car the whole time. I took the wife to Rita's for water ice and I stood by the car while she went and got it lol. What you see people do around your car when they think you're not looking or they don't know you own the car is startling.
