I found one on the auction site, not rebuilt but out of a salvaged car. Paid less than a hundred bucks ( GM parts sites get around $385.00 for them). It looked new and works just fine.

Not difficult at all, it's "plug and play". Just remove the radio surround bezel (just pull it off; careful of the hazard flasher, cig lighter, traction control, aux power point connectors/wiring). You dont't need to unplug any of these as you will have enough slack in the wiring to raise the bezel enough to get the old unit out and the new one in without doing so, just be careful. Then remove the HVAC mounting screws, pull the head unit towards you and unplug the two electrical connectors at the rear. Plug the connectors into the replacement head unit, insert the head unit back into the mounting bracket, install the mounting screws, and snap the radio surround bezel back into place; you're done.
