Paint???
Can polished aluminum wheels be painted? I like the wheels I have currently, but, on a white vette, I think Black would look much better. Can they be painted and turn out right. Don't want to ruin them.

I'd try the above suggestion unless you're absolutely certain black is the color you want. Then, I might go with the powder coat altho durable paint applied properly will work. Stock wheels on all C6s are painted I believe I read.

I am certain that your polished aluminum wheels already are clearcoated. You should be able to gray scotchbrite them and paint them the color you want.
If they were not clearcoated the aluminum would oxidize fairly quickly and look crummy unless you seal the aluminum with Rejex or Wax.
The polished aluminum rims should be treated as any painted surface with a good polish and my favorite, Rejex!

If you do decide powder coating is the way you want to go, what do you do about the plastic center caps? Wouldn't it be near impossible to match color and sheen if you tried to paint the center caps?

center caps have to be painted, had mine done and they matched perfect
