Soo I'm looking to get a z06 and I really want a white one.. But I have noticed that chevy didn't make white z06's for some stupid reason. I have seen pics of some but I just assume now that they are painted and not from factory. Am I crazy or did they not make white z06 vettes?
You could do the plastidip, or just have the car wrapped. Considering the relative ease of removing Corvette panels, that's probably a decent way to do it. Plus, it's removable, so you don't take the massive hit to value form it being repainted, and they make some pretty nice vinyls nowdays. Would probably be cheaper than buying a newer one, or having it painted to boot.
At the end of the day though, I think a saying from the Porsche guys is applicable here.
"When buying used, you buy the car, not the color".
Wrapped in vinyl? How much would that cost I wonder?
I figure it would depend on the material and area. 3M's vinyl isn't exactly cheap, but it's very good stuff (like a 5 year outdoor warranty or something). There's cheaper vinyls out there too though.
I've seen some pretty impressive DIY wraps too though. If you're patient, a perfectionist, and have the time you could probably do it yourself.
I believe in another post somebody mentioned $3000 for a wrap?? I was looking for white (non Z06) and found one pretty quick. After buying it I realized how lucky I was to find it. The was a low percentage of white cars produced for every year. Mine is an '08. If I remember right, white was 6% for that year.
Yea a c6 is easier to find white than a z06. I used to have a yellow z06.. (My Avatar) and I don't think I can go Down to getting a c6 after feeling 427 power :p
