is this normal wait time? shipping...
I'm a happy new owener of 08 JSB z06...
Here is a short story, been wanting one for years. Finally bit the bullet, sold m3 and within 2 weeks found the one i want. I'm stationed in Germany, so I hopped on a space A flight to go pick it up in Santa Barbara California. Left early Thursday, flew in to Travis CA Thursday at 1600, 1630 I was in a rental, 400miles and 6 hours later I was in SB. Picked up the car early friday, and drove it down to Long Beach to drop it off. Saturday caught the flight back to BWI>Germany. Home on couch Sunday 1100.
Here is the company: shipoverseas Advertised delivery time is 5-6 weeks. I dropped of the car on 3rd of may, paid almost $1500, and it's supposed to be here in Germany on 21 June. Today is 30 May, car is still in the port at Long Beach
Guy that i deal with, is giving me pretty dry replies. As 10 day mark passed (takes 10 days to clears customs, is what i was told), I shot him an email for an update. He said "we will send you email, once the car is on the boat". I sent him one yesterday, and I got that it's supposed to be shipped out this week, but they don't have info if it got loaded yet.
Will i get the car on time? Is this normal time? I can't sleep until she's safe in my arms.i'm 27 years old, and my cars are my wife, my pets, my kids, my passion. Germany is short on good days, and it feels like it's taking forever to get here... plus i'm deploying in the fall..
Understandably, my experience with this company was five plus years ago, but they still have an A+ rating with the BBB. Anticipate your car will be on time, you're just a "little" excited to get your car with you.
Don't forget to deduct the shipping expenses as an unreimbursed moving expense on your tax return.
probably another few years for it to clear customs
total bs on advertisement. said clearly 5-6 weeks, on the site and by my agent. bs. and nothing i can do about it

I think sometimes the shippers are handcuffed by the schedule of the ships... Same thing can happen (to a much lesser extent) with the trucking companies.
5-6 weeks should be doable, especially if that's what they tell you to get your business. Sorry, brother.... It will be worth the wait.
