I just purchased a new phone, low tech not smartphone, and do not know how to connect it to the Bluetooth in the 2011 grand sport.
When I purchased the car the salesperson did it for me on my old phone.
I did the 30 day on-star free subscription but they knew nothing about the software update.
I tried pushing the hands-free button on the steering wheel, saying Bluetooth, saying change phone. I pushed the Bluetooth enable button on my new phone and the automated voice stated, "no devise found".
You have to pair your new phone. Try the pair command, not change phone. That command is for when you have more than one phone paired to your car. The owners manual should help though I haven't read it in a year or so since my last phone change.
Voice control button-> she'll say "ready"-> you say "Bluetooth" -> she'll say "Bluetooth ready"-> you say "pair"-> she'll say "start a search on your Bluetooth device, when the search is complete, select My Vehicle on your phone and enter the code (code will be read and displayed on the instrument cluster)" -> once you enter the code into your phone ( a four digit pin) the lady will then ask for you for a name for your phone, and you record one. She'll ask if that sounds okay, you say yes, and then your done.
Thank you for your help. I needed to say 'pair' and not "new phone" even though it was a new phone. Using the 'pair' worked in this case. I am now connected.
I do not think I needed to do the On-Star 30 day connection to do so but it probably will help if I ever decide to get a smart phone.
