Default Vert question

On a friends 07 vert the panel in the trunk that has to be secured for the top to operate will not stay secured. The donut looking plastic piece on the right side is cracked. Does anyone know if this piece can be removed and replaced with a new one or will it require a complete panel.

I have the same thing and can't see any way that that little piece can be replaced by itself. Mine is the driver's side and the other side keeps the divider in place...it only moves when something in the trunk pushes against it.

Maybe I'll just keep mine fastened. Thanks for the heads up.

Are you talking about the partition that has to be in place?

I can't imagine just replacing the donut. Does the top operate? My power top will not operate without the partition being in place.

Same thing happened to me when I had my 07. The micro switch sensor is on the right side so, I used electrical tape to hold it in the closed position. I also ran tape around the circle to make the hole smaller. We traveled for weeks at a time with the car and I used the space for luggage. You just have to remember not to try and put the top down

I did the same thing...ran tape around the switch because sometimes the partition would be moved out of position when I had the trunk packed tightly with luggage. One time the partition came loose when the top was in the middle of going up, it stopped the top halfway up and I had a heck of a time getting in there to snap it back.

Yep me too. I taped the switch down to be able to have the top and tonneau both halfway up, along with the trunk open, to be able to pull out the carpet so I could peel and seal the whole thing. Just left 'em taped.
