That seems like a lot of money for something that most likely will get old real quick. But it is his car and his money so who am I to say what he can do.

I would hate to have buddies that charge me $5000 for something that should be $2000 to $3000 tops Did this "buddy"at least apply some form of lubricant when you friend bent over to stroke the check for $5000

Oh I see. You're under the impression that your car is an asset to be carefully maintained so as not to lose value.
Back in the real world we all know that simply isn't the case. I bought my car to enjoy, not to put 8 miles in 2 years like its 2nd owner did. Resale is insignificant if I'm not planning on selling it.
